New Miss Wisconsin Selected
OSHKOSH, Wis. (WSAU) -- A new Miss Wisconsin has been chosen. She's Miss Green Bay Area Courtney Pelot. Pelot won the sash and tiara Saturday night in Oshkosh during the finals at the Alberta Kimball Auditorium.

Pelot's platform is "Open Books, Open Opportunity: Promoting Literacy in Our Communities." She also competed in the talent competition dancing to "Pretty Hurts."
Along with promoting her platform, Pelot plans to promote STEM, or science, technology, and math education and the Children's Miracle Network.
This was the first time Pelot had entered the Miss Wisconsin Scholarship Pageant. Now, she's Wisconsin's representative in the Miss America pageant September 6th through the 11th in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
