Playboy model and ‘Queen of Snapchat’ dies in freak accident

Playboy model Katie May, often called the “Queen of Snapchat,” died at the age of 34 after suffering from a stroke.
May had been hospitalized since Monday after a bloackage in her carotid artery caused a stroke, and on Thursday she was taken off life support, according to a Huffington Post report.

The stroke stemmed from a neck injury May suffered after she fell during a photo shoot last week. She reported feeling pain and medical professionals checked her out, but ultimately she was released the same day. The pain continued, and she even tweeted that she was feeling discomfort. She sent one last picture out on Monday before the stroke, a picture of her in a bikini on a sandy beach, remarking that it’s “very windy here today in LA.”
May has appeared as a model in many magazines and she had a huge following on social media, with about 2 million followers on Instagram.
May had a seven-year-old daughter.
According to HollywoodLife.com, her sister Jenny and Megan May along with close friends and family paid their final respects at her bedside before deciding to turn off life support.
The reaciton was immediate, with fans spilling out condolences onto social media. She reportedly had many friends visit her at the hospital during her final days.
Her sisters said that on Monday, she wasn’t feeling very well, so they took her to the ER thinking it was just neck pain. But she ended up having a massive stroke.
No cause of death has been determined, although the fall during her photoshoot is believed to be the likely cause. The model back non-responsive on Tuesday, and by Wednesday she was being kept alive by machines. She was eventually declared brain dead.
